The three main fundraising events for the Friends are their plant sale in May,
a small book sale in August and a much larger book sale in October.
This past Mother's day weekend, the Friends hosted their annual plant sale, chaired by Elizabeth Lane. Special thanks go out to Elizabeth, and her crew consisting of Bart Drennen, Tammy Charbonneau, Gary Closius, Kay Zak, Taras Kachorowsky, Joel L'Heureux, Jane Wellbrock, Larry Wellbrock, Neurie Tessagrossa, Dan Holle, Cindy Holle and Teri Natoli. Thanks to the hard work of all the volunteers and the people who purchased plants, the Friends raised $3,316.00.
In August, we hold a small book sale in conjunction with the Salem Lions Tag Sale. This year, it was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 8 AM to 3 PM.
Our main fundraising book sale took place the last weekend in October. It was held in the gymnasium of the Salem School on 200 Hartford Road, Salem, CT. The hours were Friday, 10/24/25 from 7 - 9 PM (Friends members could enter at 6 PM), and Saturday, 10/25/25 from 9 AM to 3 PM. A bag sale began on Saturday at noon. Stay tuned for what was raised by the Friends to go towards programs/collection at the Salem Free Public Library. A huge thank you to all who came.
