Our third Little Library was installed at Wicked Southern Coffee on Route 85 in Salem, just east of the Route 354 intersection. Owner Kaylee Shilosky says that a lot of her customers are parents with young children vacationing at Gardner Lake. Rita Howell and Lori Rudker will continue to add books for that interest level.  If you want to see other genres of books at any of the three Little Libraries, please send us an email at fosfpl06420@gmail.com.

On Monday, June 16, 2025, some of our hardworking volunteers were busy collecting books at the close of the Mystic-Noank Library booksale. These books will then be sorted and put into various categories for our August and October book sales. The picture on the right are some of our most diligent book sorters!

The Friends were out in full force for Salem's Memorial Day Parade on May 26, 2025. We had tents up for the Friends and for the Salem Free Public Library to hand out flyers, head boppers and much more. Meet two of our volunteers in the center picture (Rita on the left and Lori on the right) who make sure the two Little Libraries are well stocked. One Little Library is at the plaza at Four Corners in front of the pharmacy, and the other is at the recreation fields on Round Hill Road. The third one will be going up soon!

A few pictures from our Annual Plant Sale held this year from May 8 to May 10, 2025

Some pictures from the installation of the second Little Library. This one is at the Salem ball fields. At these little libraries, you can take a book, and return a book - great way to get some reading material when the library is closed!

Special thanks (from left to right): Bill Martin of the Salem Lions, Carl Nawrocki - president of the Friends,

Dan Holle of the Salem Lions and Bart Drennen - treasurer of the Friends.
